We
wish to thank Southeast Alaska Builders for donating $1,500.00 from the proceeds
of the 2008 Home Builders Show at Ted Ferry this past February. We would also
like to extend a thank you to Elizabeth Richardson for organizing the Day of Hope
Walk on July 19th. She donated her time and the proceeds from the walk to FCCC.

| | FCCC
is a community based, non-profit organization, located in Southern, Southeast
Alaska, dedicated to helping reduce the impact of cancer related problems for
you and your loved ones .
| We
are an all volunteer group and everyone is welcome to participate. Please contact
Linda Gilson 225-2343 or Kathie Glover 225-9351 or e-mail FCCC for information about our next meeting.
| | | The
application process is easy and the response time is very fast. In addition,
FCCC can put you in touch with other sources of aid. Applications are available
here, at all local physicians' offices and clinics, or by calling 225-4104. |
| | We
can help you with reduced fee screenings.
| FCCC
is not affiliated with the American Cancer Society, insuring that all funds stay
in the community. Donations are received year-round in celebrations of cancer
survivors and in memory of cancer victims. The annual St.
Patrick's Day Auction is our only fund raiser and because of the generosity
of our community we have been able to put over $1,000,000 back into the communities
of southern Southeast Alaska. | | | Another
activity of FCCC has been to solicit and receive monetary donations which have
been used specifically to purchase the following cancer related equipment of Ketchikan
General Hospital: a Sentinel Neoprobe for use in breast cancer diagnosis, a new
Cell Processor for Pathology, and a Stereotactic Breast Biopsy Unit. |
